I want to change the schema password in Oracle Apps 11i.

I am reading metalink Note 159244.1 How To Use FNDCPASS to Change The Oracle Users, APPS, APPLSYS and Application Module Passwords (INV, AR, AP, etc.) For Applications 11.5 in Unix

I have a doubt in the same document.

There is a note given as
Quote:
NOTE 3: Altering the ORACLE User name (schemas) passwords with FNDCPASS without first updating the APPS/APPLSYS password with FNDCPASS will cause the ORACLE User password to be undecodable by Applications.

Does this mean that we have to do the changing of passwords using FNDCPASS using same ssh session.

or

Does this mean that
1. I have to stop application on all the application nodes.
2. Change the applsys password using FNDCPASS.
3. Change the schema password using FNDCPASS.
4. Start the application.
5. Run autoconfig.
