hi!
I'm having trouble using the import program of GL to transfer the records from the interface table. Using the Payables Transfer to GL program, I was able to successfully transfer the input to the gl interface table. But upon importing the said input using the GL import program, it produced 'error' as its status in Request window. Attached with this is the log file of the said import program. What is the problem with this?

Will it create a duplicate entry if the same batch is imported using the import program in GL from the interface table?

I don't see any error in the output. It has imported the batch "APSSCMAR041309 4596 Payables 61344: A 5800" successfully into 1 header and 14 lines.
Do you see any error in the log file?

No I don't but before running the import program, i have encountered an error while creating entries in Payables. It says 'ora-01654: unable to extend index...' Does it affect the import program? I tried to generate the 'Payables Accounting Entries Report' and I was able to see the entries I created. It is just that, these don't reflect in GL as 'Unposted' since it flashed an error status. Upon adjusting the tablespace attribute to resolve the ora-01654 error and rerunning the import program, I was able to successfully ran it successfully and saw the entries in GL as unposted. Does this mean that the said error has affected the import program for this to display that it successfully transferred the entries even if it does not perce?

I think you are using 11i. Please post the release next time onwards. Have a look at the Forum Guide also.
Still I didn't understand your problem.
Are you saying After transferring to GL and running Journal Import, you see the GL data as unposted?
(Or)
You are suspecting that the data went to GL multiple times?

Yes I'm using the 11i.. Here's the problem. I was able to transfer the entries from Payables to GL inteface table, but upon running the Journal import program, it generated a status 'error' in the Request window. When I looked at the log file, I found that no error existed (based on the attached file of this topic). I also tried to see the 'Payables Accounting Entries Report' and found out that the entries were there, so I expected that I'll be able to post those entries using the Post Journals window. But unfortunately, the entries (i.e. unposted batch)that I was supposed to post were not there.

I'm suspecting, it could be the ora-01654 error that occured, triggered the import program to cause the import error.

So the question is, does ora-01654 error that occured prior to transferring the entries from Payables to GL interface table, really has something to do with the import error?

I think the one you have uploaded is "output" file of Journal Import.

But I don't think ora-01654 has caused this mismatch, as you got this error before the Journal Import. And till the time you run Journal Import, you have the data in gl_interface. There could be some other reason. Check the Log again.

I misunderstood it. Journal Import has erred out because of the error you have mentioned.

It seems it is quiet possible that Journal Import has transferred the data in the gl_interface to GL headers and lines and couldn't post because of this error. Oracle Support may help you better on this.

I guess the ora-01654 error that I'm talking about has something to do about this because after the error that I mentioned has been resolved, I was able to rerun the journal import program successfully with the entries displayed as unposted. By the way, I have another question, if in case I never encountered any problem with the import program and ran it successfully, is it possible to have a duplicate entry if I rerun the import program using the same batch?

I don't think so.
Once it pushes the data from gl_interface to GL headers and Lines, it stamps the status in the gl_interface.
In some cases it deletes the data, which has successfully processed.
Hence you shouldn't get any duplicates in normal scenario. If you find any, that could be a bug.
