check out your rollback segments. Generally there should one rollback segment per 15 sessions. You are getting this error bevause your rollback are too small or you have unsufficient number of segments.

Snapshot too old is the most annoying error you can ever get in Oracle.

1. as Radek said, check your rollback segments
2. If you are doing a HUGE job, see to it that no one else is trying to do anything else in the table you are working on.
3. Increase the commit level. (Yes I said INCREASE, sounds funny but is true).
