I have a set of 10 equally sized (quite large) archive logs. If I query each one in turn using logminer they take about 7 mins per log to return a result (simple query with no sorting). If I use the 'addfile' option and try to query the 10 archive logs at the same time the job takes somewhere around 6 hours to run. A count(*) on the v$logmnr_contents table shows there are only 10 times as many records. Why is it so slow? Possibly something to do with loading records in memory.
