How would i know the space before and after purging?

Do you mean after purging the recyclebin?

If so, you are wasting your time. Space occupied by dropped objects is shown as "free" in DBA_FREE_SPACE. Also, Oracle will automatically purge objects from the recyclebin when it needs to allocate space. So, for all practical purposes, you can consider it as free space.
