Hello All,
I am looking after a 9i database on an IBM server which has 32 GB ram. I am looking at sizing the SGA. Is it advisable with so much memory to play with that I make the SGA multi gig in size. I have set the PGA_AGGREGATE to 5GB.

current SGA is 3.5 GB

regards

Alan

The larger the SGA, the more work oracle will have to do to manage it. 3.5 gig is already quite huge. Not sure you have a choice but to test various configurations and their performance.
