Hey all,

With every log switch there occurs a checkpoint and with every checkpoint DBWn writes to datafiles.
Is it worth saying that with every log switch DBWn writes to datafiles?

Secondly, is it only with log switch that CKPT updates the headers of datafiles or it updates the datafiles with evry action causing checkpoint?

Any reply would be appreciated.

Thanks and Regards
Yasir Hashmi

hi yasir,

first of all it is true that with every check point your dbwr is going to write in db files
secondly with every action that causes the checkpoint , ckpt process activates and update the header of data files Smile
