Hi,
I want to upgrade Oracle Database in Solaris(SPARC-64bit) platform. The current version of Oracle DB is 9.0.1.0. I want to upgrade it to Oracle 9.2.0.7.
I need some help to proceed for upgrading it. Is there any direct way to do so?

Thanks in advance,
Animesh

I suggest that you simply READ & FOLLOW the instructions which come with the patchset.

To upgrade the database from 9.2.0.1 to 9.2.0.7 first you have to shutdown the database normal/transactional/immediate. If windows then all the services related to database should be down. Then install the 9.2.0.7 with the setup kit (that will be around 150 mb or so).
Note: This setup will only upgrade the software but not the database, to upgrade the database also you have to do the following steps:-

-- Up all the services related to oracle, then on sql prompt :-

sql> startup migrate;
sql > @ oracle_home\rdbms\admin\catpatch.sql
sql> shutdown normal/immediate/transactional
sql> startup
sql> @ oracle_home\rdbms\admin\utlrp.sql

Thanks..
I think the process mentioned will work to upgrade from 9.2.0.1 to 9.2.0.7. But I need to upgrade it from 9.0.1.0.
Will the same process applicable for upgrading from 9.0.1.0?

Animesh

I searched the Oracle metalink site but could not find any such patchset.
Do you know the number of any such patchset?

Install the Release 9.2.0.4 Oracle Software
Upgrade the Database from 9.0.1.0 using the Database Upgrade Assistant or Manually.

Then You can apply the patchset 9.2.0.7.
