Machine name missing in v$session after some time if session is idle [message #210017]

Hi,

We have a windows basedapplication which connects to the DB when its started. It spans a dedicated server process.
The application is invoked once in a while when required other times it is idle but the connection to the database always exists and is idle.

When the application is started we can see the MAchine name in v$session . But after some hours , when the session becomes idle, the machine name alone is missing .The terminal name is present. But only the machine name is missing.
Once i restart the appliction , i can see the machine name..

Any thoughts will help...
