Dear Experts,

I have installed Oracle Express 10g on Linux Redhat Entreprise 4 X86.

After installation, i have run /etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure to define the port number and it finish successful.

But when I open the web application http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex
then i got error: "Connection was refused when attempting to connect localhost:8080"

Kindly advise and help

Hi,

Connection was refused

May be becuase of your hosts file configuration is correct.

you should review your etc/hosts file for IP ADDRESS and HOSTNAME.

here is my hosts file:

[oracle@linux database]$ cat /etc/hosts
# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
127.0.0.1 linux localhost.localdomain localhost
202.123.177.2 linux linux.it-cosco.com

I think it's correct.
